1. Current approach
The rebuilt VersusVPN website is designed to avoid non-essential tracking by default. It may use strictly necessary storage for security, checkout, remembering privacy choices and delivering a feature you request. Those technologies do not require consent where the legal exception applies, but we still explain them here.
2. Essential technologies
| Purpose | Why it is needed | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Security and request handling | Protects forms, checkout and service availability | Session or short-lived |
| Checkout | Remembers the plan and completes a secure payment with Stripe | Set by the payment provider |
| Privacy preference | Remembers a choice if optional technologies are introduced | Up to six months |
3. Analytics and advertising
No analytics or advertising technology should be enabled in the launch build unless the site first presents a clear choice and keeps it disabled until valid consent is given. If analytics, pixels, embedded media or affiliate tracking are added, this policy and the consent mechanism must be updated before they go live.
4. Payment provider
When you choose secure checkout, Stripe may set technologies required for payment, fraud prevention and security on its pages. Stripe is responsible for explaining its own use of those technologies.
5. Your controls
You can use browser settings to view or remove stored data. Blocking essential storage may stop checkout, account or security features from working. Contact admin@versusvpn.co.uk with questions.
